Azwer flagship boutique in Lahore, the Nida Azwer atelier showcased an exclusive line of limited edition shawls titled the “Toosh Collection” along with pieces from the latest bridal couture line of brand “The Hyderabad Collection”, through an exclusive couture soiree.
With a showing of select pieces from “The Hyderabad Collection”, the fashion presentation commenced. With designer Nida Azwer, then followed an interactive session where the intricately designed hand embroidered shawls were presented to guests at event by the models and Nida explained the craftsmanship and the type of work revived in each shawl.
Along with models including Fauzia Aman, Amna Babar, Nadia Malik, Alizeh Waqar and Kanwal Ilyas, leading celebrity and renowned media personality Juggan Kazim attended the showcase as special wearing Nida Azwer bridal couture and of the couture showcase, all were its part.
For the first time ever on Shatoosh shawls where each shawl reflects a unique story and theme, embellished with miniature embroidery in fine silk threads, the Nida Azwer label brought their signature fine hand embroideries with the debut “Toosh Collection 2013”. Every shawl crafted by Nida Azwer for the Toosh Collection 2013, renowned for her love of more classic and vintage design elements, is one of a kind piece where each creation has been numbered as part of its limited edition exclusive stature. Indeed more than half a year every Shatoosh embroidered shawl has taken to complete, given the meticulous hand embroidered craftsmanship and extremely fine nature of material involved.
Pieces from the line seen recently on the ramp at Pantene Bridal Couture week were included in the capsule showcase of bespoke pieces from “The Hyderabad Collection” at the event. Designer Nida Azwer draws inspiration from the traditional Hyderabadi aesthetic, for this collection. Through rich fabrics like maisuri silk, brocade, featuring intricate embroideries of exotic birds, dragonflies, and other creatures inspired from French florals as well as figurative embroidered inspired by Mughal miniatures, the collection highlights the grandeur, luxury and affluent lifestyle of the Hyderabadi Nawabs. In terms of Silhoutees, signature Nida Azwer angarkha’s, voluminous Hyderabadi, dupattas paired with classic Hyderabadi shirts with low backs and choli lehanga’s featuring detailed resham work have been used, all in a diverse color palette of gold, off-white, yellows, silver, pinks and green with accents of coppers, ivories, dark greys and browns.
At her flagship Lahore store on M M Alam Road, Nida Azwer’s couture showcase was held. In Karachi at the Ocean’s Tower, the Nida Azwer’s atelier also maintains a flagship store along with a couture studio in Defence Karachi.
