The experts say that people living in seaside are more calm and away from depression as compared to those living in densely populated areas. The reason behind this is that spending some time on seaside and watching sea provides mental peace.

In the study by experts of Health Geography in the Michigan State University, green places were also included but that doesn’t produce special effects on mental health. For this purpose, the experts examined various people living in New Zealand’s area of Wellington and asked them about mental tension. The people viewing sea from closer were less depressed as compared to other people. But they say that factors like age, financial position and gender also have to be included in this.

According to the experts, blue places like sea are quite natural while green areas can also be manmade like playgrounds. The experts advise that taking depressed people to sea could be beneficial and if a city is on seashore then less expensive houses should be constructed there that will improve the mental health of most of the population. The experts also say that it is also important to examine effects of lakes and rivers on human mind.
