Ingredients:

  • Potatoes 4 large pieces
  • Corn oil (for frying) 2 cups

For the Batter:

  • Basin (chickpea flour) 1 cup
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Crushed garlic 4 cloves
  • Crushed ginger 3 inches
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander (optional) 2 tbsp

Method:
Directions:

  1. Add water to the Basin and knead it till the batter becomes smooth.
  2. Add the Chili powder, cumin powder, garlic, ginger, salt and chopped coriander and blend the batter.
  3. The potatoes should be sliced very thinly.
  4. The potato pieces be dipped into thin coat of batter.
  5. Pour some oil in the pan and heat it. Dip the potato slices in the batter and fry them till they are golden brown.
  6. Remove them from the oil with a slotted spoon and set them on a paper towel for a minute to soak up the excess oil.
