Teenager’s first crush, the pressure of studies, feelings of neglect by the parents, giving attention to older brother, the preparation and celebration of Holi, which usually happens every teenager is highlighted in “Bubble Gum”. In the recent past, many films were made using teenagers as MERA Pehla Pehla Pyaar, UDAAN, TERE MERE SANG, Rockford, KACCHA LIMBO, (the latter) always Kabhi Kabhi, but the meaning of all those movies and “Bubble Gum “that every story gets a different treatment.

“Bubble Gum” is set in 80 years where the cable connection, internet, facebook, twitter came not exist. Just call the old form was common. The story has a middle class family and background. It is a story about the colony, where children go to school together, participate and enjoy the party.

It is a story of a middle class family living in Ahmedabad where there is a father (Sachin Kheddekar) works in a steel mill, mother (Tanvi Azmi), who woks as a teacher and their two sons, Vedant (Delzad Hiravali), and Vidur ( Sohail Lakhani). Vedant’s younger Vidhur, being the smallest member of the family, he has spoiled a lot and it gets a bit naughty. Vidhur is deaf and studies in a hearing school. As generally happens, heart beats very fast at this age and the heart also Vedant pulp for his classmate Jenny (Apoorva Arora).

The biggest barrier in the love life is Vedant Ratan (Suraj Singh), a colony boy who has a soft corner for Jenny. Add to misery Vedant is the homecoming of his older brother during Holi. Everyone is happy in the house as Vidhut is coming home. His favorite food is cooked, everywhere there is a party, and amidst all these Vedant left abandoned when all the attention and sympathy from his parents went to Vidhur.

Vidhut Vedant is impaired and his brother tries to take his gang, but his friends laugh Vidur for his disability. Their joy did not last long and soon situations where there shouting, swearing, tears, Vedant errors.

“Bubble Gum” is a simple, heartwarming story where there is love, laughter, pleasure and no pain. Director Lal Sanjivan the execution of the script is worthy of praise. When you watch the movie, you will feel to get those positions during your teenage years. Lal is the story of a simple home treatment happens in every day to day life. We all know that these things happen everyday in our time, but it’s something celluloid vey difficult.

Speaking of performances, the central character Sohail Lakhani looks perfect age. He as a traumatized little boy par excellence. Sachin Khedekar and Tanvi Azmi as Vidhur and Vedant’s parents have delineated their roles. Tanvi requires special mention for displaying the sign language so flawlessly. Delzad Hiravali as deaf boy is okay. Apoorva Arora as love Vedant was delicious.

The film has music by Hanif Shaikh and BAPI Tutul is not the ear, but the soothing background score by Salim Merchant is commendable. Anshul Chobey The cinematography is nice.

In short, “Bubble Gum” is a sweet, simple story of a teenager. It is a joyful ride to the teenage days. Good watch. Will not let your expectations down.
