1. You’ve been quite busy promoting Bachna Ae Haseeno …
I know man! It’s really crazy yaar, running up and down.

2. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya kept you in the closet right till the end. Here Yash Rajs way of working and promoting a complete contrast. How different was it?
Well, I think in today’s day and age, promoting a film is really important. Marketing has a huge impact to the movie because it makes us all aware of that particular film and that is what we are doing for Bachna Ae Haseeno.
I go through the same emotions, nervousness and fear I went in Saawariya. It all comes back to me. So I hope that people like and enjoy Bachna Ae Haseeno and hopefully I will taste my first commercial success.

3. You work with your real life Saawariya, Deepika. Is that a good enough reason for Bachna Ae Haseeno to be a hit?
I think not. I do not think if a few real life is a movie together, it will be a hit. Yeah, garner more attention this is what the media is concerned, but I do not think anything beyond that makes or breaks the film.
Both me and Deepika can not gaze our chemistry on screen, but it’s our audiences who know better if our chemistry works and we are now awaiting their response.

4. What was it like to sing the same song that your father, Mr Rishi Kapoor, sung in ‘Hum Kissi Se Kum Nahin’?
Singing ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ song was scary while it was very heartening, because you can not compare yourself with the legends like Kishore Kumar, RDBurman and Rishi Kapoor.
As the title of the film Bachna Ae Haseeno, we could not resist ourselves from using that particular number. The title track will not be seen in the film because it is a promotional track. It was fun filming the evergreen song.
It was our own sweet representation on the song and it’s been caught a lot with the youth of this day and age.

5. Are you afraid of heights?
Yes, I’m terrified of heights, but I have overcome my fear while shooting ‘Khuda Jaane’. When Ahmed and Siddharth me on top of an approximately 100 ft rock type sculpture and I had to stand on top of it to sing ‘Khuda Jaane’ with different hand movements, it was really scary.
But when I saw it on the big screen I felt proud that I managed to keep my nerves shot to do that. It has come out wonderfully.

6. It’s also your debut with all three leading ladies in Bachna Ae Haseeno. So tell me, who is the good, better and best?
(Laughs). I was comfortable with everyone, but the chapter with Minissha was the best, because we both are shown as seventeen years old in the film.
We have some really nice things like bike around Switzerland, riding on the Huskies, the glaciers, roller coasters, etc. Honestly, I had a great time shooting with Deepika and Minissha. Both are wonderful to work with and very talented.

7. Share with us your experiences of working with your screen lucky girl Bipasha Basu.
When I started working on Bachna Ae Haseeno, Bipasha was the first person I started the film. I was totally in awe of her and much of the fact that she was my first major big co-star.
So I was a little nervous to work with her at first. Apart from the fact hot and all she has achieved over the years, she’s a great man and I felt like I was never a ranked newcomer.
I now have a good friend for life. I’m really friendly with Bipasha and hope to work with her again in the near future.

8. Your father is also a part of Yash Raj Films and now carry on the tradition. Any tips from Kapoor senior given to Kapoor junior?
There is nothing about taking an advice. Yash Raj is a very large banner. They make beautiful films. Off late, yes, their movies are not really successful, but that does not alter the fact that they have such amazing phenomenal films in Indian cinema.
I feel privileged and honored to be a part of such production. Hopefully, if this movie does well then I do more with Yash Raj films. My father let me take my own decisions and learn from them.

9. From a sincere lover in Saawariya to a playboy in BAH. Correct me if I’m wrong?
Let me correct you (laughs). I’m not playing a casanova or a playboy. It is a role of a man next door with whom you and every other person can identify.
It is a journey of Raj from 17 years to 30 years, different relationships he has and the different phases of this relationship and how these relationships teach him about love and life.

10. Part of the world media recommends Yash Raj Films exit. Would you respond to this statement?
I am absolutely shocked by this behavior. People only judge actors and directors by their failures, but no account of their successful films.
Look at the kind of movies Yash Raj has given Indian cinema over the past forty years. We should be proud of. Movies run and do not run is not in the hands of the director or producer.
The fact that Yash Raj makes movies passionately and spoil their actors, they make you a part of the Yash Raj family and to cooperate with them in only my second film is a great achievement. I feel sad when I see such bizarre statements, which also heard from the media.

11. I know I might be in trouble if I ask you this, but in a good mood, you called John Abraham to tell him that he no longer Bipasha’s Lucky Boy?
(Laughs) Oh no. Not at all. I do not think anyone could be a lucky boy except John. I respect John a lot and Bipasha is such a great kid. I’m really happy for them both. But I’m also happy for the fact that I play her lucky boy in the film.

12. We also heard that you are going to be a part of an RK Banner film pretty soon. What is the latest trend on that?
That is absolutely true. That is my highest priority. We’re doing a film for the R.K. Banner and now we are at the scripting stage.
Hopefully, by sometime late next year, after I’m done with my other film commitments, I will start my film with my domestic production. We still have not decided who to direct the film, but a few names still in the pipeline.
